About Adam Guzzo

I was born in Chicago. Raised in the suburbs. Moved to San Francisco in '99 to attend Academy of Art University. Stopped attending in '05ish. I've been drawing since I can remember. I've taken far too long of a break from my creative side. Now I'm trying to find the delicate balance between work, art and life. I still haven't found it.

I’ve been busy

I know it’s been a while, but I’ll post some paintings that I’ve been doing as of late.

A few drawings that I’m happy with.

All Things Tempting

This one was difficult to complete. Felt as if I was treading water every time I stood in front of the canvas.

Again, I’ll try to get a better photo (and title) soon.

Edit… Decided that it’s not done. Back on the easel.

Now it’s done. Cleaned up some edges and played with the hair a bit. I can breath when I look at it now.

Last Call

I really got to start naming these

I used a photo for reference. I don’t like using photos, my tendency to recreate the photo always seems to over power the need to make something original.

I’m quite pleased with the result this time.

(I’ll try to get a better photo of it soon)

Sketch in oil

Grabbed a sketch out of my book and had a bit of fun with it.

Comfort

Oil 24×36

A friend posed for me. The plan was to get a strong drawing from the session then paint using it as a reference. The painting went well, but the drawing session took a bit longer than I thought it would. Planed for 1.5 hours… took 5.5.

The iPhone lost a lot of brushwork. Need a better camera.

Untitled

Oil 22×28

Finished this a while ago. Had to wait ’till I got a better pic of it being that the iPhone doesn’t capture reds too well.

Painted the woman 3 times trying to get the colors right. I’m happy with it but I might revisit this one later on another canvas. I know I can do better.
