Andy Van Wart
It’s been difficult to break away from shooting film, and I haven’t been able to let go of my Holga. For so long I just wanted pixel perfection, and the highest fidelity possible in my photos. But now it seems that I’ve relaxed a bit and am finding magic in the imperfect. This series is a depiction of that overall sentiment. I hope you can see some of the magic that I feel from these images. Thanks for clicking!

Another roll of cross-processed Holga images that I picked up today at Photoworks. I am a happy customer. This is Provia 100 ISO medium format color film, later cross-processed. I’m moving on to Velvia medium format film next to see if I can achieve a more red/pink tone quality. I still like the green tint to Provia, but will now aim for a warmer scheme. Thanks for clicking.

Here’s the latest from my cross-processed Holga adventures. Mad props to Photoworks for supporting medium format processing, and for their TLC. It’s not so easy to control a Holga. You have to approximate the focal length and the shutter speed varies so a crisp shot is tricky. I was lucky enough to get five usable shots from this particular roll. The film was cross processed, which in good light creates a cool green tonality. Thanks for clicking!

Everyone loves to hate on what are referred to as “hipsters”, but why all the hipster angst? Maybe a nice pair of ten dollar sunglasses would do you some good? It may be worth a shot.

Audio backstory
This tune is all about Waltz. I wanted that feeling of threes. I also wanted to dive into some analog sample packs from Live that Ableton gave away for free on their site. I was mostly just testing out some of these new synth patches. They sound pretty nice.
Video backstory
The other day I filmed a caterpillar repelling onto the sidewalk from the tree outside my house, and for some reason it came to me that this little guy was performing some strange type of aerial ballet. It then hit me that it may work well with the waltz piece I was working on. Henceforth, this:
