This new video of mine is a tribute to the magic of sunlight and its mysterious language. Nearly all of images in which light is the subject were recorded in my apartment after work during the early evening. My apartment is special in that way, because of the glorious warm light that comes in between the branches of my neighbors redwood tree, through my window, and dances along my walls. I believe that there are messages inside the movement of the light, as if it’s telling a story or singing a song.
I recorded the music for this video in Ableton Live. I chose chimes with delay and reverb because I felt it went well with the bokeh-like effect of the light artifacts. I’m using an acoustic guitar for several other layers of the tune as well, and the synth stabs are Reason. TR-808 drum machine with triplet timing. Thanks for clicking!

I recorded this track with the intent of using a lot of reverb guitar, arp, acoustic strumming, xylophone, and march-style percussion on the snare. Please feel free to comment, and feel free to download this track as well.

I created this track after watching a VBS special called True Norwegian Black Metal. There’s something very interesting to me about this guy Gaahl who is the lead singer of Gorgoroth. I was particularly struck by one of the last bits of the interview in which he replies, “I don’t think you are focusing on what’s being told.”
People are listening, but are they really focusing on what’s being told?
Aside from the vocal samples, I’m using an acoustic guitar, a TR-808 drum machine, and the Subtractor synth in Reason. I will also admit that this track is heavily influenced by the music of Akufen.

I created this video out of iPhone 4 movie clips for a track I wrote entitled Like They Know. I suppose the general idea I had in my mind is that, well, “People talk like they know.” I have noticed in my short existence on this planet, that a lot of people think they have all the answers. People speak with such confidence about the stuff they claim to know. Hell, I know I do it, too.
The video begins with a harmonica player, Marc O’Harps, at the end of Haight Street. Another clip features a nude dude giving a presentation about his regrets in life, which I thought to be a fitting form of humility to address the know-it-all perspective, visually. Thanks for clicking!

This is some of my original music along with a compilation of video clips that I have recorded with my DSLR. I recorded some acoustic guitar, originally, and went from there. The drum beat is a Roland TR-808 and I am using the Subtractor synthesizer in Reason along with some LFO on the filter frequency to achieve the wobble bass.
