Yearning for what you cannot have
Ogling over the unreachable
Curiosity of the cat
The unknown pleasures
Lingering for longer than necessary
Peering in for the dream
Anything to break this day apart
Some means to an adventure
Let me in

This is the last light that comes into my flat, lately it’s been happening at around 7:46pm. I live on the third floor of a an old Victorian in the Upper Upper Haight, so it’s arguable that I get some of the last of the day’s light, and for that I feel very grateful. It certainly does have a nice quality to it.
This montage consists of three layers. The characters that appear here are Victorian die cuts. I picked them up in Santa Cruz from a street vendor who claimed that the copyrights on the cuts are long-expired. Die cuts are amazing. I think each of the characters are handmade from hundreds of individual dots that come together to create the image. Another layer here is a photo of paint on glass at Blue Front Cafe on Haight St. The third layer is the Victorian architecture, which is roughly at Frederick and Ashbury. It’s that strange Victorian charm that brings it all together, for me. Thanks for clicking!

It was a stunning sunset to wrap up a beautiful day in the City. This post was sent from my iPhone and I’m pretty stoked about the new site right now. Hoping to get a bunch of sign-ups soon.
